LIVE TO GIVE
PODCAST

Faith Church has been producing a podcast called Live to Give. The Live to Give podcast is currently in its third season. Each season of the podcast has focused on providing hope and entertainment. Over the last couple of years, there has been a need for hopeful things. Hope comes out of dark places or over a period where there has been oppression/darkness.

He who carries the torch of hope kindles enthusiasm and wins acclaim. Yet almost every true prophet begins with a message of doom, and only after long periods of misery and darkness is he able to speak of the dawn and proclaim a message of hope (Heschel, 1955, p. 225).

I love the way Heschel writes about the hope found in the prophets. The prophets faced all kinds of darkness and horrible situations, and yet God provided them with a message of hope. Hope is vital to our well-being.

I like the way Milgliore (1991) defines Christian hope, “Christian’s hope is hope in a fulfillment of life beyond all that we deserve or can even imagine—hope in the consummation of life in the joyful communion of the triune God (p. 353). Hope is found in the relationship between God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The way the trinity relates to each other is the ultimate example of hope.

This is the focus of our Live to Give podcast. We have the desire to surprise you with hope found only in Jesus. When we interview people, we are looking for hope. When we talk through a topic, we are looking for hope. And, of course, during our pursuit for hope, we also have a desire to entertain by having fun. Having fun and providing humor is a way to bring walls down. Humor allows space and freedom to peel back the layers of baggage around certain topics of conversation. Humor opens us all up to more.

All of this to say, I hope you check out our podcast. I hope you participate by emailing us with questions or dialogues. I was recently talking with one of our listeners, and they told me how helpful this podcast is. They brought up a great point about our podcast helping them outside of the church walls. The podcast helps them have more time and space to think through the things of Jesus.
