Vision Series

Vision

Series

Every fall, Faith Church plans a vision sermon series to share in a weekend service. Pastor Kirk and the team take this seriously because this series sets up the forecast for the upcoming year of ministry. There can be a lot of pressure to get this right, not to be cheesy, and to listen to the Holy Spirit.

This last winter, a couple of staff members went away for a couple of days to discuss the vision for Faith Church. We hoped to pray and to listen to the Holy Spirit. We walked away confident that we had listened to the Holy Spirit. I want to declare that we, as humans, are never perfect, and we get things wrong all the time. However, our team felt there was something special God had laid on our hearts during this time together.

We want to share this vision with you! We are excited and pumped to share this vision with you, Faith Church!

The Vision Sermon series begins this Sunday, September 10th, 2023. This will be a four-week sermon series, and I am eager to see what God does with this series in and through Faith Church.

An incredibly influential leadership book called The Leadership Challenge discusses the importance of believing in something,

“To create a climate of meaningfulness, first you must personally believe in something yourself” (2002, p. 112).

We (the staff at Faith Church) believe in this vision series, and we can’t wait to share it with you! You don’t want to miss any of these weekends!

One of Jesus’ vision statements in the Bible is found in the book of Luke.

When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come (4:16-19, NLT).

Join me in praying for this vision series for Faith Church. I ultimately pray that God will anoint this series and that Jesus’ vision will be fulfilled in all we do. May we bring the Good News to the surrounding area and beyond together!

Blessings,
