Next Steps

Next Steps

On October 22, 2023, we held an all-church meeting to discuss some issues with our church building and put forward a vote to the church community.

For several years, we have been experiencing significant issues with the roof of the building. If you look up while inside the building, you can notice evidence of the damage.

We have tried different solutions, including several repairs and fixes. We have also hired a general contractor company with a civil engineer who used imaging to identify the areas of water damage and other issues.

Our aim was to pinpoint the exact spots that needed fixing, but the contractor told us that there were 37 spots with issues, and there were likely many more.

In 2019, a civil engineer and a contractor discussed potential solutions for a problem. However, before they could implement any changes, 2020 arrived. Due to limited resources, we opted for a temporary and inexpensive fix to prevent water leakage. The solution worked for some time, but the issue has resurfaced and needs to be addressed again.

We attempted to find a solution to our roofing problem by reaching out to several general contractors. Four different companies came to inspect the roof, and they all agreed that it was in terrible condition and would be very expensive to fix. None of them were interested in bidding on the job. We have been unable to find anyone who would offer an estimate for the repair cost.

As a result of this situation, our church board has unanimously decided that we should sell the property and relocate. We presented the proposal to the church, and it was approved.

Interestingly, the church had a vision to move to State Road 17 years ago. Faith Church launched a capital campaign and bought the property, but the plan to relocate was delayed when the market crashed. We have owned the State Road property since then but have never moved there.

We believe that this is God's plan for us, just like when He told Moses He would lead His people, but Moses thought it would happen right away. Instead, God said, “Nah, you need 40 years in the wilderness, and then you'll be ready.” We think that God gave the church the vision for State Road, but the timing was not right back then.

After 17 years, we believe that God is leading Faith Church to relocate to State Rd. We conducted a vote with a total of 121 participants. Out of the 76 members who voted, 73 voted in favor of the sale and 3 voted against it. The non-member voters totaled 45, with 42 voting in favor and 3 voting against the sale.

What that means for our church is that we are now taking the next steps toward selling this property with all intentions and plans to move to State Road.

We are currently in the process of figuring out the details and talking to architects and general contractors to begin the construction. We will keep everyone updated as we take these steps. I am thrilled to say that I believe this is God's vision and direction for our church, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it. If you missed the all-church meeting, you can find the video of it HERE and learn more about the details.
